as "America’s First Family of Birding," Don and Lillian
Stokes have been the most-trusted authorities and educators of birding
information for more than 25 years. This husband and wife team are
leading television personalities as well as best-selling birding
authors.
The Stokeses created and hosted the first birdwatching television
shows to appear on national television. More than 40 million viewers
have
tuned in to their PBS television series, "Stokes Birds at Home," and
their newest series, "Bird Watching Workshop," is airing
on DIY and HGTV. Recently, the Stokeses appeared in episodes of PBS’s
award-winning television series "The Victory Garden," where
they emphasized the importance of gardening to create good backyard
bird habitats.
Don and Lillian’s 30 birding and nature books include the
best-selling Stokes Field Guide to Birds, Stokes Beginner’s
Guide to Bird Feeding, Stokes Birdhouse Book, and Stokes Hummingbird
Book. To date, more than four million copies of the Stokes books
have been sold. Their books are published by Little, Brown and Co.
Utilizing their best knowledge and experience, Don and Lillian
have committed themselves to the development of a complete line of
bird
feeders, seed products, accessories, and informative books to help
birders achieve the most successful bird feeding experience.
Don and Lillian Stokes love birds! The couple makes generous donations
to bird habitat conservation projects and fosters birding awareness
issues through their lectures. They also exercise their lives’ passion
by educating others on birds and by expanding and protecting bird
habitats at their New Hampshire residence.
