The Stokeses created and hosted the first birdwatching television shows to appear on national television. More than 40 million viewers have tuned in to their PBS television series, "Stokes Birds at Home," and their newest series, "Bird Watching Workshop," is airing on DIY and HGTV. Recently, the Stokeses appeared in episodes of PBS’s award-winning television series "The Victory Garden," where they emphasized the importance of gardening to create good backyard bird habitats.
Don and Lillian’s 30 birding and nature books include the best-selling Stokes Field Guide to Birds, Stokes Beginner’s Guide to Bird Feeding, Stokes Birdhouse Book, and Stokes Hummingbird Book. To date, more than four million copies of the Stokes books have been sold. Their books are published by Little, Brown and Co.
